Case Western Reserve University’s (CWRU) Case Connection Zone pilot research project is the first step in an initiative to determine how effective utilization of gigabit Internet connectivity can be made relevant and useful in homeowners’ everyday lives. Providing a super high speed Internet connection and innovative sensor technologies within the home will enable real time and continuous data flow to public sector partners measuring usage of their various tools. These partners, in cooperation with CWRU, will focus their research on four major areas, including health and wellness, STEM education, neighborhood and public safety, and household energy management.

REMOTE DEMONSTRATIONS:

9:15, 10:45 and 11:45 a.m.                             A demonstration of the Case Connection Zone gigabit fiber-to-the-home pilot project will be broadcast live from inside the Alpha House to the Cleveland Botanical Gardens via high definition television. Demonstrations will highlight the capabilities of health and wellness, home energy management, home security, and STEM education with super high speed connectivity.

TOURS OF ALPHA HOUSE:

Noon – 1:30 p.m.                                             Optional tours of the Alpha House are available after the conclusion of the outlined agenda. Participation is voluntary. Lunch will be available onsite for approximately $10.00.
